26 Male Survivors Of Sexual Assault Quoting The People Who Attacked Them

This needs more notes.

no one seems to care if they are guys

reminder that rape and sexual abuse happens to everyone, not just girls

I think the disturbing part is how very similar the threats are.

"We will kill your family, and your friends, as we make you watch, then you". After I was gang raped.

My mum’s reaction when I told her I was raped at the beach. “I’ll never let you out of the house again if you make up lies like that.”, then she beat me.

Sexual abuse is a form of aggression for people who seek power. That’s why a lot of straight men rape both men and women. It’s a power play.

This is for all you ladies out there.

the struggle is real

I have a trans man story about this.
Since I’m pre-t I still have my period but since I’m socially out as trans I use men’s bathrooms. One time at the college the family bathroom was taken and so I went into the men’s room to do my business. I tried opening the little pad as quietly as I could manage, but the rustling and ripping sound still happened. I froze in silence because I didn’t know if the other guy in the men’s room heard it or not.
Then after a little bit of silence I hear…
"Who has a bag of chips?"
And in a panic I just whisper back to him “I’m not sharing.”
Then I hear a huff before he finished his business and left.

Bahahahaha

Seizure First Aid.

Learn it. Share it. Know it. Use it.

100% correct medical information on tumblr for once; also consider calling 911 if you don’t know how often the person has seizures and ESPECIALLY if the seizure has lasted 5 minutes or more (which is why the watch is critical)

All of this! My mother has seizures from time to time due to epilepsy and all this info is accurate. The seizures described are called grand mal, in case anyone cares.

Women firefighters douse flames during the Pearl Harbor attack.

This image makes me — I can’t really describe the effect it has on me. The first time I saw it, I got choked up. Look at those women. They look so strong and brave and capable, they are of all shapes and sizes and nationalities and they are so beautiful to me. These women stepped out of the kitchens that society told them they ought to stay in when war came, they took up the challenge like a boss.
